Croatia- September 2011 PART 2

September 20
In the morning we visited Zrmanja canyon where we found cache.
After that we went to Zadar where we didn't spent much time.
The weather was warmer (about +25° C) and Edgars decided to swim. After quick swim we went to Šibenik.
In the evening we wanted to find an apartment or a room near Trogir, but everywhere we asked home-owners asked 50-80 euro per night. It was too expensive for us and we slept in SAAB apartment near pepper field.

Croatia- September 2011 PART 1

The very first time we made video of our trip, but it is in Latvian, so here is small description what you can see in videos and what we did these two weeks.

September 17
Early in the morning we fulfill the duty of every citizen- voted 11th Saeima elections (Latvia's government) and jumped in car to get on road.

Back from Croatia

We've returned from Croatia. We were there the last two weeks of September and spontaneously visited also Italy. Eh, I would like to move for live there. Such a pleasant climate (I like warm), beautiful nature and even the towns were interesting (I usually don't like cities).
What greeted us in Latvia when we came back - cold autumn, moldy refrigerator (I switched off it, but forgot to open doors before departure). And of course how without administration of punishment in Latvia. We lost car number-plate in Poland. All the trip we drive without penalties. Without numberplate was passed through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Austria, Lithuania and Latvia too, but in Latvia can not do without punishment. At least in other countries police officers were understanding. The penalty for lost number-plate (if I am not mistaken) was LVL 19.75 (~ EURO 28) in addition to a new number-plate and technical certificate.
So unusual was to return to work after two weeks trip. I guess the impressions in Croatia was that bright that I didn't want to return. Mood uplifted tourism rally (www.autofotoorientesanas.lv), where for the first time I didn't drive as a pilot and Baltic dance night visit.
Now I'm making video. I do this for the very first time and it doesn't go so fast as I hoped. When it will be finished, I'll post it here and write a description.

Using mobile phone in Croatia

We will be in Croatia for about 10 days and we want to stay connected. We don't want same huge bills, what we had going to Ukraine (we switched off phone, and only when we wanted to send sms we turned it on and in that time phone connect to internet). So I searched Google for mobile prepaid cards in Croatia. I think the best deal is to buy TELE2 - Welcome to Croatia International tariff prepaid package. You can easily limit your bill, because this is prepaid card and till 30 September 2011 it gives 100Mb internet for free.

Cruising for free

Do you want cruising for free? Is it really possible to travel with cruise lines for free? How to cruising for free? Reed in this blog post.

It’s true! You can trade your talents for free (or substantially discounted) luxury cruises. Cruise line management is very interested in keeping their passengers happy at all times.
This goal is a bit more challenging on days when the ship’s at sea. To address this issue the cruise lines offer all manner of onboard activity. Many of these activities are staffed by outside people who typically cruise free or at discounted fees paid to booking agencies. One key advantage is the time commitment, which is generally minimal for those who are contracted (usually an hour per day on days when the ship’s at sea). Also, most outside contractors get to bring along a traveling companion who also cruises free.
